  • Ottertail Citizen and Property Owners:  Please Self-Register for the new CODE RED
Emergency Weather Alerts
Otter Tail County is now using the CodeRED® Emergency/Weather Warning Notification System - a high-speed community communication service. This system allows us to send specific information to individuals, businesses, and organizations throughout the county - or just in affected areas - in case of an emergency or severe weather situation.

The CodeRED® Emergency/Weather Warning Notification System also delivers weather warning information to anyone that signs up to receive it - whether on your phone, by text, or email.

Important Notes

  • If you are new to the system, it is important that you enter your physical address to ensure that you will be included in all weather and community emergency notifications.
  • If you are already a part of your city's roster to be notified for community emergencies, you must also enroll in order to receive the CodeRED Weather Warnings. Please be sure to include your physical address.
  • When you sign up, you will have the ability to select what types of emergency and general notifications, and weather warnings you want to be notified for, as well as how you want to be notified.
  • Please make your selections carefully; weather warnings may be issued at any time of day or night.
  • If you are signed up to receive weather or emergency notifications from other sources (media, smartphone app, etc.), you may receive multiple notifications - one from CodeRED, and others from the additional sources.
  • CodeRED Weather Warnings utilize National Weather Service information to notify only those who are in the path of the storm.
Caller ID

When you register, please be sure to add these telephone numbers to your phone's contact list, when applicable:
